EJIGBO, LAGOS STATE — The Executive Chairman of Ejigbo Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Aare Taoheed Adebayo Taiwo, popularly known as TAT, has called on residents and personnel of the Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service to remain calm following a reported confrontation between both parties.
In a statement issued by the Public Affairs Unit of Ejigbo LCDA, the council chairman appealed to all parties involved to exercise restraint and avoid actions capable of escalating tensions in the community.
TAT emphasised the importance of dialogue, mutual understanding and respect for constituted authorities as essential elements for maintaining peace and fostering harmonious relationships among residents and public institutions.
He noted that cooperation between community members and emergency responders is vital, particularly during emergencies when the safety and well-being of lives and property must remain the top priority.
The council chairman further reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to protecting public safety and promoting peaceful coexistence across Ejigbo.
He urged residents and fire service personnel to resolve disagreements through constructive engagement rather than confrontation, stressing that misunderstandings should not undermine the effective delivery of emergency services.
TAT maintained that both residents and emergency responders have important roles to play in ensuring a safe and peaceful environment, calling on everyone to act responsibly in the interest of the wider community.
The appeal is aimed at restoring calm in Ejigbo and preventing further tension between residents and the emergency response agency.
