Quality research requires more than determination; it also requires a conducive environment. My one-week residency at the Dele Momodu Leadership Centre (DMLC), Alalubosa GRA, Ibadan, reinforced this truth.
The Centre provides researchers, writers, journalists and scholars with a serene atmosphere that encourages deep thinking, uninterrupted writing and meaningful intellectual engagement. It is carefully designed to incubate and nurture ideas. What distinguishes the Centre is its genuine commitment to supporting scholarship.
Beyond its world-class facilities, the Centre is staffed by courteous and hospitable professionals who create a welcoming atmosphere for residents. Scholars also receive financial support during their stay, which allows them to focus fully on their research. It is a commendable initiative that reflects Aare Dele Momodu’s commitment to advancing education, leadership, and intellectual development in Nigeria.
My sincere appreciation goes to a fellow researcher and seasoned journalist, Mr. Sola Ojewusi, who informed me about this remarkable opportunity. Without that timely exposure, I might have missed this most rewarding research residency.
I also extend my profound gratitude to Aare Dele Momodu for establishing a Centre that is making a tangible contribution to research and scholarship. May Aare Dele Momodu continue to enjoy long life and good health as he remains committed to his selfless service to humanity.
