The First Lady of Zamfara State, Hajiya Huriyya Dauda Lawal, has been honoured with the religious title of Iya Adini, meaning “Mother of Faith”, by the Nasrul-Lahi-l-Fatih Society of Nigeria (NASFAT).
The title was conferred on her by the association’s Zamfara State branch during its annual Women’s Week programme in recognition of her humanitarian activities, commitment to religious values and contributions to community development.
The event also featured a fundraising appeal for the completion of the NASFAT Jumu’ah Mosque in Gusau, attracting Islamic leaders, women representatives and other stakeholders.

Presenting the First Lady at the ceremony, the Amirah of NASFAT’s Gusau branch, Hajiya Khadija Lawal, described her as a role model and philanthropist whose dedication to the welfare of others had inspired women and communities across the state.
In her response, Hajiya Huriyya expressed gratitude to the association for the recognition, describing the title as both a privilege and a call to greater responsibility.

She said the honour would motivate her to intensify efforts to promote Islamic values, religious awareness, peace and unity throughout Zamfara State.
The First Lady also prayed for the wisdom and strength to uphold the responsibilities associated with the title, while asking Almighty Allah to reward NASFAT for the honour.
The association said the recognition highlighted the importance of humanitarian service, religious commitment and community engagement in fostering peaceful coexistence and social development.
