Former France international Thierry Henry and British sports journalist Kate Scott have been named hosts of the 70th edition of the Ballon d’Or ceremony, scheduled to take place on Monday, October 26, 2026, at the London Palladium.
France Football and UEFA announced the appointments on the official Ballon d’Or website, confirming that the event will bring together prominent figures in football to celebrate outstanding individual performances.
Henry, a former Arsenal and Barcelona forward, finished second in the 2003 Ballon d’Or voting and received nine nominations for the prestigious award during his playing career.
The French football legend won the 1998 FIFA World Cup with France before claiming the UEFA Champions League title with Barcelona in 2009.
Scott, an internationally recognised British journalist, presents UEFA Champions League coverage on CBS Sports in the United States, where she regularly works alongside Henry.
Reacting to her appointment, Scott described the ceremony as one of the most significant events on the football calendar, highlighting its role in recognising players whose performances inspire future generations.
She expressed gratitude for the opportunity to host the prestigious event again, describing the appointment as an exciting moment in her career.
Henry also welcomed the opportunity to co-host the ceremony in London, a city he considers home because of his strong connection to its football culture and supporters.
The former striker said hosting the event alongside Scott, his friend and colleague, would be a fitting experience and expressed confidence that the ceremony would celebrate the best of the sport.
The 70th Ballon d’Or ceremony will reveal the winners of the prestigious individual football awards on October 26, with leading players and other prominent personalities expected to attend.
