In swift response to the ongoing industrial action embarked upon by the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU), the Federal Government held an emergency meeting with the union leadership led by the union’s President- Professor Biodun Ogunyemi in the early hours of Tuesday. After the three hours long meeting, the Federal Government again failed to come to conclusion with the demands of the academics, the implication of which suggests that the indefinite suspension of activities by lecturers in all public owned universities will continue if the imbroglio is properly attended to.
