The Lagos State Police Command has been thrown into mourning following the death of its Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of Finance and Administration, DCP Khan Salihu.
The sad development was confirmed in a statement issued on Monday by the Command’s Public Relations Officer, SP Benjamin Hundeyin. According to the statement, DCP Salihu passed away on June 15, 2026.
Describing the late officer as a dedicated and highly professional member of the Nigeria Police Force, the Command noted that he served with loyalty, integrity, and commitment throughout his career.
The statement highlighted that DCP Salihu was known for his strong leadership qualities, diligence, and unwavering dedication to duty. His contributions to the administration and operations of the Lagos State Police Command were described as significant and impactful.
The Command further stated that news of his passing came as a great shock to officers and personnel, who have been deeply saddened by the loss.
The Commissioner of Police, Lagos State Command, CP Tijani Olawale Fatai, on behalf of officers and men of the Command, extended heartfelt condolences to the family, friends, and colleagues of the deceased, praying for strength and comfort for all those affected by the loss.
DCP Khan Salihu’s death marks the end of a distinguished career in public service, leaving behind a legacy of professionalism and dedication to the Nigeria Police Force.
