It will be Adunni Ace Strikers slugging it out against Ward G at the final of the Agboyi-Ketu Chairman’s Unity Cup 2025!
The on-going football tournament organized in commemoration Hon. Adetola Adunni Abubakar’s 100 Days in office has reached its zenith when the two teams that will play the grand finale emerged on Thursday November 13, 2025. These finalists were both victorious at the Semi-Finals of the tournament featuring Ward F vs. Ward G and Adunni Ace Strikers vs. Ward C all of the Agboyi-Ketu LCDA.

The first semi-finals saw a very intense football match between Ward F and Ward G. It was Ward G that drew the first blood and went on to double their lead at 0 : 2 to Ward G. Ward F reduced the deficit by pulling one back and went on to draw level, but their supposed equalizer was struck out by the referee for reason of an infringement. In the second half, Ward G scored 2 more goals, while Ward F was only able to reply once. The scoreline ended at 4 : 2 in favour of Ward G. This tournament has thrown up some revelations in terms of football talents in Agboyi-Ketu. One worthy of note is Kudus Adeyemi, a young man from Agboyi who emerged the star player of the semi-finals. Although his team lost, the coaches, scouts and pundits have identified him as a star to watch out for!

In the second semi-final match, Adunni Ace Strikers got the better part of Ward C with a 2 : 1 goal line. The famous 12 : 1 thrashers who were merciless against their opponents on Match Day 2 had a really hard time showing their strength against Ward C who gave a very good account of themselves on the pitch! It was a cracker of a match, which some pundits have described as the “final-before-the-final”! The match was very balanced with both teams showing equal strength until Ward G had to separate both sides with a late goal just before the blast of the final whistle!

In the final analysis, the Agbgoyi-Ketu Chairman’s Unity Cup 2025 will go down history lane as a veritable tool to discover footballing talents amongst the youths of Agboyi-Ketu LCDA. The organizers have asserted that the best of the players will be selected from all the Ward teams and Adunni Ace Strikers to form a formidable football team of Agboyi-Ketu that will play and excel in the Governor’s Cup next year!

Watch out for updates on the Grand Finale, which will be played during the programme of celebrations of Hon. Adetola Abubakar’s 100 Days in office!
