Bonny Island, September 27, 2025 — The Nigerian Liquefied Natural Gas Limited (NLNG), in partnership with the Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB), has successfully completed the Train 7 Project Human Capital Development (HCD) Advanced Training Programme, producing 122 skilled graduates for the oil and gas sector.
The graduation ceremony, held at NLNG’s plant complex in Finima, Bonny Island, capped a three-month intensive on-the-job training for participants drawn from both graduate and vocational categories. The initiative aligns with the Federal Government’s Nigerian Oil and Gas Industry Content Development Act, which prioritises human capital development.
NLNG’s General Manager of External Relations and Sustainable Development, Sophia Horsfall, said in a statement on Friday that the programme focused on technical expertise in plant and facility management, preparing participants for careers in Nigeria’s gas and energy industry.
Speaking at the event, NLNG’s Train 7 Project Director, Ali Uwais, represented by Joshua Anemeje, described the programme as a milestone in grooming the next generation of oil and gas professionals.
“This programme is about building a new generation of Nigerian professionals who will shape the oil and gas sector for decades to come. Its successful completion with a zero-incident safety record reflects not only the trainees’ dedication but also NLNG’s culture of ‘Safety First and Always’,” he said.
The NCDMB General Manager of Human Capital Development, Esueme Dan Kikile, noted that the initiative had produced globally competitive professionals skilled in instrumentation, electrical, mechanical, fabrication, lifting and rigging, and preventive maintenance.
He added that 27 trainees received special recognition awards, while six exceptional participants were offered automatic employment with AOS Orwell, one of the training partners.
Kikile further emphasised the importance of the Train 7 Project, describing it as one of the largest gas infrastructure developments in Africa, with significant potential for job creation and industry growth.
The training was delivered in partnership with Candix Engineering Nigeria Limited, AOS Orwell, Arco Marine and Engineering Limited, Dover Engineering, and Amaiden Energy Nigeria Limited.
