LAGOS, NIGERIA — September 28, 2026: The search for the remaining suspected members of the group allegedly responsible for the robbery involving customers of GHOST AND SPIRITS, Abule-Egba, Ekoro, has intensified, with the establishment’s owner, Charles Lawal, announcing an additional ₦5 million reward for credible information leading to their identification and apprehension.
The latest development follows the emergence of additional CCTV footage believed to contain potentially significant clues about the identities and movements of individuals suspected of involvement in the incident.
In a statement reacting to the new footage, Lawal declared that he would not stand by and allow anyone to destroy the business he had worked hard to build, reaffirming his determination to protect the establishment, its customers and its employees.
His declaration underscores the resolve of the management to pursue every legitimate avenue available to support the ongoing investigation and ensure that those responsible are brought before the appropriate authorities.
NEW CCTV FOOTAGE PROVIDES FRESH LEADS
The newly surfaced CCTV footage reportedly shows an individual playing snooker inside a nearby bar earlier on the evening of the incident.
The individual’s clothing appears similar to that worn by a person captured in separate CCTV footage recorded at approximately 4:00 a.m. during the reported robbery. In the later footage, an individual was seen carrying what appeared to be a firearm and wearing a cloth very similar to that of the man playing snooker at the said nearby bar.
Investigators are expected to examine the two recordings to establish whether the individuals shown are the same person and whether the footage provides useful information about the movements of those suspected of participating in the incident.
The recordings are now being reviewed as part of ongoing efforts to establish the identities of the suspected individuals and reconstruct the sequence of events surrounding the robbery.
While the apparent similarity in clothing may provide a useful investigative lead, further verification will be necessary before any definitive conclusions can be reached about the identity or involvement of the individual shown in the recordings.
ANOTHER ₦5 MILLION REWARD ANNOUNCED
In a fresh move to accelerate the search for the remaining suspected members of the group, Lawal has announced an additional ₦5 million reward for any Nigerian citizen who provides credible information leading to their location and apprehension.
The new offer comes after an earlier ₦5 million reward was announced following the robbery, with a subsequent breakthrough reportedly resulting in the apprehension of an individual captured in CCTV footage.
According to the information previously released by the management, the apprehended individual reportedly provided information about other suspected members of the group. That information has been handed over to the police for verification and further investigation.
The additional reward is intended to encourage members of the public with relevant information to assist the authorities in locating the remaining suspected individuals.
The management is urging anyone with credible information that could assist the investigation to channel it through the appropriate authorities.
‘I WILL NOT ALLOW ANYONE TO RUIN MY BUSINESS’
Reacting to the latest development, Lawal maintained that he would not sit back and watch anyone ruin the business he had painstakingly established.
