Policy strategist Baba Yusuf has decried the horrific acts allegedly committed by terrorists in Zamfara State, describing the suffering endured by victims and their families as deeply heartbreaking.
Speaking during an interview on Arise News, Yusuf reflected on the devastating impact of insecurity on communities across the state, citing a disturbing incident involving abducted residents of Kauran Namoda.
According to him, about 200 people were reportedly kidnapped in the area in May 2025 and taken into captivity by armed terrorists. Among the victims was a heavily pregnant woman who later gave birth to twins while being held by the abductors.
Yusuf narrated that the woman’s experience remains one of the most painful examples of the cruelty faced by victims of terrorism. He questioned how authorities and society could comfort families who have suffered such unimaginable losses.
He stressed that beyond casualty figures and reports of attacks, countless families continue to bear emotional and psychological scars caused by insecurity. Yusuf noted that many survivors are left traumatized, while relatives struggle to cope with the loss of loved ones.
The policy strategist called on security agencies and government authorities to intensify efforts to combat terrorism, protect vulnerable communities, and provide adequate support for victims and their families.
He emphasized that restoring security and public confidence in affected regions must remain a priority, warning that continued violence threatens the well-being and stability of communities across the country.
