October 2, 2025 – Two Endeavor Air jets, a subsidiary of Delta Airlines, collided on the runway at New York’s LaGuardia Airport late Wednesday night, authorities confirmed.
The incident occurred at 9:58 p.m. (0158 GMT Thursday) as one aircraft was landing while the other was preparing for takeoff, the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey said in a statement.
One person was hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries, while Delta reported that a flight attendant sustained minor injuries.
Images circulating in U.S. media showed damage to the nose of one aircraft, though AFP could not immediately verify them. Despite the collision, operations at LaGuardia, one of the country’s busiest airports, were not disrupted.
Delta described the incident as a “low-speed collision during taxi” and said it would cooperate fully with authorities in reviewing safety protocols. Preliminary findings indicated that the wing of a plane taxiing ahead for departure to Roanoke, Virginia, struck the fuselage of the arriving aircraft.
The two jets carried a combined total of 93 passengers and crew members.
