Thursday September 25, 2025… The final bus-stop and grand finale of Hon. Adetola Abubakar’s appreciation tour and Continuous Voters Registration Drive was at the Agboyi-Ketu APC Local Government Headquarters. And it was indeed a “BIG THANK YOU!”
Thousands of members of the APC (All Progressives Congress) were gathered at the Party Headquarters to welcome their Executive Chairman. It was an outdoor meeting with the large compound packed full with party faithfuls. The Agboyi-Ketu LCDA Chairman of APC; Hon. Odekomaiya in his welcome address reeled out projects that the Chairman had begun to do, even at this nascent stage of her administration. He then went on to introduce the chairman’s entourage. In his introduction of the Executive Chairman, the party Chairman declared that signs are clear that the future of Agboyi-Ketu LCDA is indeed very bright… Trust Politicians! You would hear songs you have never heard before and very interesting! There was a ping-pong of songs as each party stalwart makes a remark or responds to another’s.
With so many accolades and eulogies in sincere appreciation of the good work she has begun to do, the Party Chairman introduced the Executive Chairman to a rousing welcome and explosive applause!
In her very charismatic and political style, Hon. Adetola Adunni Abubakar paid her homage to all and went straight to her appreciation. In a prayer-laden speech, she recounted how party members supported and served assiduously during the campaign and election period. The massive turn-out of the electorates, which numbered approximately 43,000 was the highest voters turnout for the APC in the history of Agboyi-Ketu LCDA; a feat only achievable through the hard work of party members!
She told the party members that she meant every campaign promise she made and asked them to blow the trumpet loud and clear to every citizen of Agboyi-Ketu. She had hit the ground running in the Education sector! Following the Back-to-School Boost and Spelling Bee competition, the Chairman is set to employ Care-givers and Security personnel to work in the Government Schools for the utmost care of the children of the LCDA. Every child in Agboyi-Ketu is Adetola Abubakar’s child! She mentioned a case of child abuse of a 6-year old girl that just got to her notice and promised to investigate the matter and pursue justice for the victim. She used this as occasion to warn not only criminals and child molesters but the parents as well! Every parent must take proper care of their children. As such, in any case of child abuse / molestation, not only the perpetrator will be dealt with, even the parents will be culpable as well – if deemed careless in securing the safety of their children!
Environmental sanitation in Agboyi-Ketu must be top-notch! She enjoined residents to stop indiscriminate refuse dumping and keep the environment clean as this is the first guarantee to sound health.
The Executive Chairman reiterated her crusade for the Continuous Voters Registration (CVR) process to ensure that residents of Agboyi-Ketu get their PVCs (Permanent Voters Cards) ready. She noted that the citizen’s vote is their power to make demands from the Government and the PVC is the key to that power! Everyone must get their PVCs and use their voting power judiciously! Revalidations, replacements, relocation and new registrations of the PVC must be taken seriously and to make this process easier, Hon. Abubakar has graciously provided a stand-by bus to convey residents of Agboyi-Ketu to the INEC capturing centre at Ogudu and back. She enjoined all party members to work with the party Chairman to help the general citizenry with all matters pertaining to their PVC.
Hon. Abubakar announced a Federal Government skill-acquisition and empowerment scheme that will benefit 1,000 youths of the Agboyi-Ketu LCDA! This programme will empower youths to be selected evenly from all sectors of the LCDA – the wards, the markets, the communities and other stakeholders – who will be trained and equipped in their various vocations. She delved into national politics, explaining the inflation rates that succeeded the fuel subsidy removal. Now that the pains of that bold action of the Asiwaju Bola Tinubu-led Federal Government are beginning to wear out, prices of commodities; especially foodstuff are visibly reduced and the prices continue go on the downward trend; a very rare phenomenon in Nigeria!
At the end of the meeting, Hon. Adetola Adunni Abubakar “gave her thanks” to every party member in attendance! As many as they were in their thousands, her token of appreciation went round…
