World renown televangelist, erstwhile football club owner and Ambassador of Goodwill, Prophet T.B. Joshua has waded spiritually into the raging controversy regarding the future of Lionel Messi, the Barcelona and Argentina soccer superstar.
It would be recalled that for some weeks now, there have been speculations about the player not being happy at Barça and willing to ply his trade next season in another club, presumably Manchester City FC. There are also insinuations about Messi’s bitterness about the way things are being run at the Camp Nou home of the Spanish giants.
Prophet T.B. Joshua, a keen football enthusiast who once owned the My People FC football team in Lagos, Nigeria, has decided to lend his huge voice to the issue by advising Messi to tread with caution while deciding on his future. According to a statement this afternoon titled MY CANDID ADVICE TO MESSI on his Facebook page, the Man of God opined:
“It is not good advice for Lionel Messi to leave Barcelona bitter and offended. It is impossible to establish a healthy relationship with a person who left a previous relationship bitter and offended. This is my candid advice to Messi. History is our boss.”
Since he posted the view, hundreds of thousands of followers around the world have been hailing the Prophet for what they believe is an insightful view on the crossroads dilemma of the great footballer and a guide to a better future for a man whose decision may mar a very illustrious career at the pinnacle of soccer.
