Hon. Adetola Abubakar’s first foot forward in her fresh Administration at the Agboyi-Ketu LCDA is very obviously in the Education Sector. In just a few days into her new Government, this “mother-hearted” Chairman has already carried out some landmark projects in the Education Sector!
In previous publications of the Lagosian Magazine, her giant strides in this sector speak volumes of what the school children of Agboyi-Ketu and their teachers are about to enjoy in the course of the Hon. Adetola Adunni Abubakar-led Government. Some of these education-specific projects include:
300 free GCE forms for students in the LCDA
Back-to-School-Boost; a cash empowerment project for parents of the LCDA to prepare their children for school resumption.
Spelling Bee Competition
Having seen these great strides right at the start of her Government, the Nigeria Union of Teachers; Kosofe (Federal Constituency) Branch on September 29, 2025 paid a courtesy visit to the Executive Chairman to thank her for the things she had begun to do in the education sector.

As representatives of all teachers in Agboyi-Ketu LCDA, they have made this courtesy call to congratulate the Chairman on her victory at the polls and offer their solidarity and cooperation with her Government. In the light of this, the NUT delegation presented their Congratulatory Gift to the Chairman.
In her response to their courtesy visit, the Chairman thanked the NUT Executive Committee Members for stopping by at her office for this courtesy call. She noted that she was not new to the NUT and their great work. She was part of the immediate past Administration of the LCDA as the Supervising Councilor for Women Affairs and Poverty Alleviation. She also worked with the Honourable Member of Federal House of Representatives for Kosofe Federal Constituency, Hon. Kafilat Ogbara, assisting with overseeing the MHR’s programmes within the constituency. Therefore, she is not a stranger to the Nigeria Union of Teachers in Kosofe.
Hon. Abubakar indicated that the cordial relationship between the NUT and Aboyi-Ketu LCDA will continue and wax stronger in her regime. Concerning their activities for their up-coming Teachers’ Day, she will consider the LCDA’s support and participation in due course.
She enjoined the Teachers Union to take her message to their members. The children of Agboyi-Ketu are her priority and as such, every child matters to her and must be treated as such. Every child must be well educated and tenderly cared for. If anyone wrongs a child of Agboyi-Ketu, that person will have the Chairman to contend with!
Finally, Hon. Adetola Abubakar admonished that being a teacher is a passionate job. Every teacher chooses this profession out of their passion for educating and tending the Nigerian child, without recourse to mundane gains. Notwithstanding, at Agboyi-Ketu LCDA, the Teachers’ reward is “no longer in heaven!”
