Veteran Nollywood actor Patrick Doyle has announced the death of his newborn daughter, just hours after her birth.
The actor and his wife, Funmilayo Doyle, welcomed the baby girl on Friday, April 10, 2026, but she passed away the following day.
Doyle disclosed the development in a post on his official Facebook page, expressing both grief and faith in God despite the loss.
According to him, the child, named Omayinuwa Doyle, was born at about 10:40 a.m. on Friday and died at approximately 4:15 p.m. on Saturday.
“Omayinuwa visited us briefly… Her stay was short, but it brought great joy with it. We would have wished for a longer stay, but alas, heaven thought otherwise,” he wrote.
The actor added that his faith remains unshaken, noting that he and his family are trusting in God’s will during the difficult time.
“This much we know, though, God still rules in the affairs of men. Our faith in the goodness of God remains resolute regardless… It is well with our soul,” he said.
Following the announcement, fans, colleagues, and well-wishers have taken to social media to express condolences and offer prayers for the grieving family.
Many described the incident as heartbreaking, especially given that news of the baby’s birth had only just been shared hours before her passing.
