Friday 13th February 2026, Ketu-Kosofe was agog in celebration and reminiscence as His Royal Majesty, Oba Dr. Isiaka Adio Balogun Oyero, Ilufemiloye 1 of Ketu-Kosofe kingdom celebrated his 15th Coronation Anniversary. Hon. Adetola Adunni Abubakar; Executive Chairman of Agboyi-Ketu Local Council Development Area was the Chief Host. The occasion was regal and guests eminent.

Oba Dr. Isiaka Adio Balogun Oyero was coronated unto the throne of his forefathers in February 2011. 15 years on, the land of Ketu-Kosofe has experienced so much developmental transformation, and desirable peace abound. During his reign, a good number of ultra-modern residential Estates have been built at various locations in his domain, making Ketu-Kosofe kingdom as modernized as places like Lekki, Magodo and Ikoyi. The improvement in road network during this period of his reign cannot be estimated. How about the Modern Shopping Complexes scattered across his kingdom. The once-upon-a-time rough and crowdy Mile-12 market has become much more organized, modernized and even expanded, creating a hub of prosperity in modernity for the subjects and residents of the kingdom and traveling traders alike. In some of these cases of development, it has been the pragmatic leadership of the king that raised a voice to make demands. A voice Government heeded out of respect for the monarch and a duty to the people.

In an audacious and pragmatic move coming from a visionary leader, Oba Isiaka Balogun-Oyero on the occasion of his 15th coronation anniversary launched a N500 Million Fund for a new ultramodern Palace for his kingdom! He wants a Palace that will be indeed befitting of the advanced community that his kingdom has become! Ketu-Kosofe is not just a location in the Lagos Mega City, it is an important contributor to the wealth, peace and aesthetics of the greater Lagos! Therefore, the envisaged modern palace would be appropriate as the official abode of such a city-king!
Several guests and stakeholders were in attendance to grace the occasion and pledge their support for the new palace project. Prominent amongst them was Hon. Kafilat Adetola Ogbara; Member House of Representatives for Kosofe Federal Constituency.

It was a day of glitz, glamour, and celebration as the king and his eminent guests wined, dined, and made merry in gratitude for a peaceful reign. A royal reign that has heralded remarkable improvements in the livelihood of the people and infrastructure in the kingdom. As every eminent guest made donations and pledges towards the N500-Million palace project, they prayed for a much longer reign for the king and wished him more feathers to his Royal Crown…
