Nollywood actress and filmmaker Bimbo Ademoye has raised concerns over an alleged copyright infringement that has affected the monetisation of her YouTube film, Where Love Lives.
Ademoye disclosed that the movie was demonetised after an individual reportedly claimed ownership of a song featured in the film. She alleged that the same individual later uploaded the song to Spotify and other digital streaming platforms, presenting himself as the original composer.
The film, released in December 2025, has gained widespread attention online, amassing more than 18 million views on YouTube.
Reacting to the development in a post on Instagram, the actress expressed anger and disappointment over the incident and warned the individual involved to withdraw the copyright claim or face legal action.
According to Ademoye, she has full ownership and approval to use the song in question and had followed due process by paying for all soundtracks used in her productions. She described the claim as theft and insisted that she would pursue the matter through legal channels until justice is served.
She further alleged that the same individual had previously made a similar copyright claim on another of her films, To Be a Friend, which reportedly led to the loss of monetisation when the movie had reached about six million views. Ademoye said she has rejected an offer to settle the matter out of court, stating her preference for a judicial resolution.
The actress also called on members of the public with relevant information about the individual to assist by contacting the appropriate authorities.
As of the time of filing this report, there has been no official response from the individual accused of making the copyright claim.
