The Nigerian Ports Authority has disclosed that 21 ships are currently discharging petroleum products and other commodities at Lagos ports.
The agency made this known in its daily publication, Shipping Position, released to journalists in Lagos on Saturday.
According to the NPA, the vessels are offloading cargoes at the Apapa, Lekki and Tin-Can Island ports. The items being discharged include aviation fuel, petrol, diesel, bulk gas, cargo trucks, bulk wheat and general cargo.
Other commodities listed are bulk alkaline, bulk sugar, fresh fish, soya beans oil, bulk clinker and containerised goods.
The authority also stated that 41 additional ships carrying petroleum products, food items and other goods are expected to arrive at the Lagos ports between February 28 and March 7. The incoming vessels are laden with general cargo, bulk wheat, bulk sugar, crude oil, bulk fertiliser, bulk salt, containers and petrol.
Furthermore, the NPA said 17 ships have already arrived and are awaiting berthing. The ships are carrying bulk urea, diesel, aviation fuel, crude oil, ethanol, bulk wheat, general cargo and bulk pallets.
