For Song of the Year, Wizkid is nominated alongside Asake for their collaborative track, MMS. The duo’s Jogodo also earned a nomination for Afrobeats Single of the Year.
Wizkid’s album Morayo is competing for Afrobeats Album of the Year, while the singer himself is nominated in the Best Male Artiste and Digital Artiste of the Year categories.
He also features in the Producer of the Year category through productions connected to his collaborations with Asake. The nominated works include Jogodo and Real, Vol. 1, produced by Magicsticks, as well as MMS, produced by P.Priime.
His seventh nomination comes in the Viewers’ Choice category for Jogodo, his collaboration with Asake.
The 2026 Headies Awards are scheduled to take place on October 25 in Toronto, Canada, as the organisers continue to position the ceremony as a platform for celebrating African music and its growing global reach.
Wizkid’s nominations place him among the prominent Nigerian artistes competing for honours at this year’s ceremony, alongside other leading names in the Afrobeats industry.
The 18th Headies Awards are expected to attract significant attention as Nigerian and other African artistes compete across categories recognising musical excellence, creativity, production and industry impact.
