President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is set to depart Abuja on Saturday for official visits to France, Kenya, and Rwanda as part of a multi-nation diplomatic engagement aimed at strengthening international partnerships.
According to a statement issued by the President’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, the trip will commence with a stop in France before proceeding to Nairobi, Kenya.
In Nairobi, President Tinubu is scheduled to attend the Africa-France Summit, co-chaired by Emmanuel Macron and William Ruto. The summit, slated for May 11 to 12, will focus on key issues including energy transition, green industrialisation, digital transformation, climate action, and reforms to global financial systems.
The presidency noted that Tinubu’s participation underscores Nigeria’s commitment to strengthening strategic partnerships with both African countries and France, particularly in areas of economic growth, infrastructure development, and technological advancement.
Following the Nairobi engagement, the President will travel to Kigali, Rwanda, to participate in the Africa CEO Forum scheduled for May 14 to 15. The forum, organised in collaboration with the International Finance Corporation, is expected to convene over 2,000 business leaders, investors, and policymakers to discuss strategies for accelerating Africa’s economic transformation through regional integration and cross-border investment.
During the engagements, President Tinubu is expected to present his administration’s reform agenda aimed at positioning Nigeria as a prime destination for investment, while also holding high-level meetings with global and African business leaders.
He will be accompanied by senior government officials and is expected to return to Nigeria after concluding the Rwanda leg of the trip.
