President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has met with families of victims of the recent violence in Jos, in an emotional moment during his condolence visit to the state.
The President, who visited Plateau State for a stakeholders’ engagement and to commiserate with affected communities, said the trip was aimed at ensuring that such tragic incidents do not recur.
However, as he prepared to depart the venue, Tinubu took time to interact with grieving families, in a scene that reflected the human toll of the crisis.
Among those he met was a woman identified as “Mummy Ayuba,” whose video had earlier gone viral after she lost her only son in the attack. The woman, visibly emotional, genuflected before the President, who gently urged her to stand and assisted her to her feet.
The encounter highlighted the depth of grief among victims’ families and underscored a moment of empathy between the President and citizens affected by the violence.
Tinubu’s visit to Plateau comes amid renewed efforts by the Federal Government to address insecurity and foster lasting peace in the state.
