President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has returned to Abuja after spending the Eid-el-Fitr break in Lagos following his recent state visit to the United Kingdom.
The President departed Lagos on Wednesday evening, with his aircraft taking off from the Presidential Wing of the Murtala Mohammed International Airport at about 6:44 pm.
Tinubu had earlier arrived in Nigeria from the United Kingdom in the early hours of Friday and participated in Eid-el-Fitr prayers at Dodan Barracks during his stay in Lagos.
While in the state, the President held a series of engagements, including meetings with 23 governors. Among them was Ekiti State Governor Biodun Oyebanji.
He also received a delegation from the European Union, as well as members of the Lagos State Governance Advisory Council.
Vice President Kashim Shettima visited the President in Lagos to brief him on his recent trip to Borno State following a suicide bombing incident in the state.
Several top government officials and political figures were present at the President’s Lagos residence ahead of his departure. They included Ogun State Governor Dapo Abiodun and former Ogun State Governor Olusegun Osoba.
At the airport, Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, his deputy Obafemi Hamzat, along with other senior officials and party leaders, were on ground to see the President off.
