President Bola Ahmed Tinubu returned to Abuja on Tuesday evening after cutting short his scheduled 10-day vacation in Paris and London.
The Presidential jet, an Airbus A330, touched down at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja, at 6:50 p.m. local time. Tinubu, who left Nigeria on September 4, was initially expected to remain in Europe until later this week.
No official reason was provided by the Presidency for the decision to end the trip earlier than planned.
The President’s return comes just as the six-month emergency rule in Rivers State is set to expire on Thursday.
Since the beginning of 2025, the 73-year-old leader has embarked on 15 foreign trips, frequently combining official duties with short periods of rest. His most recent holiday before this month was in April, when he spent about two weeks in Paris and London.
