President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has directed the Nigerian Armed Forces, the Nigeria Police Force, and other security agencies to step up security operations in Kaduna State following the deadly attack on Naridon Village in Kamaru Ward, Kauru Local Government Area.
The President gave the directive after gunmen reportedly attacked the community on Monday, killing about 30 people, including women and children, while several homes were destroyed by fire. The assault also left a number of residents abducted.
In his response to the tragedy, Tinubu instructed security agencies to immediately pursue those behind the attack, ensure the safe rescue of kidnapped victims, and restore peace to the affected communities.
The President described the killings as a cruel and senseless act against innocent citizens, stressing that those responsible would be brought to justice. He said his administration would not allow criminal groups to threaten the security gains recorded in Kaduna State.
Tinubu also expressed sympathy to the families of those who lost their lives, as well as the Kaduna State Government, Governor Uba Sani, and residents affected by the violence.
He assured Nigerians that the Federal Government remains committed to tackling insecurity across the country through improved intelligence gathering, stronger security operations, and better support for security personnel.
According to the President, security agencies have been instructed to intensify efforts to identify and arrest the attackers, secure the release of abducted victims, and restore normal activities in the affected areas.
Tinubu further stated that his administration would continue investing in security infrastructure and strengthening the capacity of security operatives to combat criminal networks responsible for violent attacks across the country.
He also appealed to residents of Kaduna and other communities to work closely with security agencies by providing credible and timely information that could help prevent future attacks and support ongoing operations.
The President reaffirmed his administration’s determination to protect the lives and property of Nigerians, promising sustained efforts to dismantle criminal groups and ensure lasting peace in Kaduna State and across the nation.
