Nigeria’s First Lady, Oluremi Tinubu, joined global counterparts in Washington, D.C. for a high-level summit on artificial intelligence, digital safety, and education hosted at the White House.
The event, titled “Fostering the Future Together Summit,” was convened by the United States First Lady, Melania Trump, and brought together First Ladies from 44 countries, including Brigitte Macron.
According to a statement issued by her media aide, Busola Kukoyi, Mrs. Tinubu participated in discussions focused on expanding access to educational tools and strengthening safeguards for children navigating increasingly complex digital environments.
A major highlight of the summit was the unveiling of an American-developed humanoid artificial intelligence system known as Figure 3, presented to world leaders in a diplomatic setting for the first time.
In her remarks, Melania Trump emphasised the transformative potential of artificial intelligence, warning of its far-reaching implications for global society.
She noted that AI technology is rapidly evolving beyond mobile devices and could soon take humanoid forms capable of delivering practical services, adding that such advancements could reshape global power structures.
The US First Lady called for coordinated international efforts to prepare younger generations for the emerging digital landscape, stressing the importance of investing in education, expanding access to technology, and creating new opportunities for youth.
Representatives from several countries, including the United States, France, Poland, the United Arab Emirates, and Morocco, also presented national strategies aimed at integrating technology into education systems and equipping young people with relevant digital skills.
