President Bola Tinubu and First Lady Oluremi Tinubu have paid tribute to the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Pastor Enoch Adeboye, as he marks his 84th birthday.
In a statement issued on Sunday and jointly signed by the President and the First Lady, the couple described the revered cleric as one of Nigeria’s greatest gifts and a spiritual pillar who continues to intercede for the nation.
They praised Adeboye’s humility and wisdom, noting that his influence extends far beyond the pulpit. According to the statement, his contributions to nation building cut across philanthropy, healthcare, education and economic empowerment.
The President and the First Lady said they were celebrating the grace of stewardship and leadership upon the life of the cleric, fondly known as Daddy G.O., as he turns 84 on March 2, 2026.
They congratulated him and joined his wife, Pastor Foluke Adeboye, members of the RCCG and the wider Christian community in expressing gratitude to God for what they described as an exceptional life of impact that transcends cultures and borders.
The statement also commended Adeboye’s consistent prayers for Nigeria, his patriotic zeal and commitment to the country’s progress. It acknowledged his leadership over the past five decades, stating that his teachings have continued to shape and transform lives across generations both within Nigeria and internationally.
The President and First Lady prayed for continued good health and strength for the cleric as he carries on his ministry.
