President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has congratulated Senator Aminu Waziri Tambuwal on his 60th birthday, commending the former governor of Sokoto State for his long-standing contributions to public service and national development.
In a statement issued on Saturday by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, the President described Tambuwal as a seasoned politician and legal practitioner who has held significant responsibilities at both state and national levels.
Tinubu reflected on Tambuwal’s tenure as Speaker of the House of Representatives from 2011 to 2015, noting that his leadership of the lower legislative chamber coincided with a critical period in Nigeria’s democratic evolution.
He also acknowledged Tambuwal’s eight-year tenure as governor of Sokoto State between 2015 and 2023, during which he served two terms and played an influential role in shaping governance and political processes in the state.
The President praised the senator’s commitment to nation-building and his sustained advocacy for democratic ideals, stressing that his contributions have cut across party affiliations.
Tinubu wished the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) lawmaker good health and long life, expressing confidence that Tambuwal’s future political engagements would continue to make a positive impact as he marks the milestone age of 60.
