Joe Biden’s Jnr and Kamala Harris were this afternoon sworn in as the 46th President and Vice President of the United States. The inauguration on Wednesday was conducted at a solemn ceremony amid a heavy security presence in Washington, with the areas around the Capitol and downtown streets closed to the public and tens of thousands of National Guard troops mobilized in a massive show of force.




After his Swearing in by the Chief Justice Roberts of the US Supreme Court, President Biden gave a speech the crux of which asked for unity across all divides with a poignant call for an end to what he called “an uncivil war” going on in his country. He opined that “Politics does not have to be a raging fire,” referring to the acrimony that greeted the last Presidential election.
