Too many people wear masks. Pretending to be what they are not. Pretending to love, pretending to care, pretending to serve God. But deep inside, there’s emptiness and deceit. Pretence might look appealing at first, but it destroys trust, kills genuine connection, and weakens the fabric of our homes and communities.
Pretenders create emotional confusion. They say one thing and live another. A relationship built on lies is like a house built on sand. True love can only grow in truth and transparency. When couples fake peace instead of facing problems, the marriage becomes a performance, not a partnership. Pretence breeds hypocrisy and division. People lose faith in leaders, neighbours, and even the church when what they see doesn’t match what is real. Pretenders hinder progress because they care more about image than integrity.
Matthew 23:27 “Woe to you, teachers of the law and Pharisees, you hypocrites! You are like whitewashed tombs, which look beautiful on the outside but on the inside are full of the bones of the dead and everything unclean.”
God blesses those who walk in truth. When we drop the mask and live with sincerity, we invite healing, peace, and lasting relationships.
