SO&U, one of Nigeria’s leading creative advertising agencies, has been named Legacy Advertising Agency of the Year at the inaugural Brand Handlers Summit and Awards.
The firm’s Group Managing Director, Udeme Ufot, MFR, also received the Legacy Award for Creative Advertising in Nigeria, recognising his decades-long contribution to the growth and transformation of the country’s marketing communications industry.
According to a statement by the company, the dual honours highlight both the institutional strength of SO&U and the visionary leadership of Ufot, who has built a career around creating impactful campaigns, mentoring creative talent, and raising professional standards within Nigeria’s advertising space.
Speaking after receiving the awards, Ufot expressed appreciation to the organisers and dedicated the recognition to SO&U’s clients, partners, and staff.
“These awards are not just a recognition of the work we do, but of the belief that creativity, innovation, and integrity remain the foundation for building enduring brands,” he said. “At SO&U, we remain committed to pushing boundaries and setting new benchmarks for advertising excellence in Nigeria and beyond.”
The Brand Handlers Summit and Awards, positioned as a premier platform for celebrating innovation in marketing and brand-building, cited SO&U’s creative ingenuity, client service, and enduring impact in shaping brand narratives across sectors.
Over the years, SO&U has been behind some of Nigeria’s most memorable brand campaigns, with a portfolio that includes work for Guinness, Diageo, MTN, Unilever, PZ, Access Bank, Guaranty Trust Bank, Polo Luxury, Captain Morgan, and the Akwa Ibom State Government, among others.
The recognition further cements SO&U’s reputation as a trailblazer in Nigeria’s creative economy, reaffirming its mission to deliver ideas that inspire, connect, and create lasting value for brands and society.
