Vice President Kashim Shettima, Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke, and Ebonyi State Governor Francis Nwifuru have joined other prominent Nigerians in celebrating President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on his 74th birthday, highlighting achievements recorded under his administration.
In a statement issued on Sunday, the Vice President commended the President’s leadership, noting that the Renewed Hope Agenda has continued to reposition the country for sustainable economic growth and stability. He pointed to improvements in key economic indicators, including GDP growth, declining inflation, and increased foreign direct investment.
Shettima also praised the President’s commitment to infrastructure development, describing it as a critical driver of long-term national prosperity. He added that Tinubu’s leadership is defined by his willingness to take difficult decisions in the interest of the country’s future.
Governor Adeleke, in his tribute, described the President as a unifying leader whose governance transcends political divides. He said Tinubu’s policies have strengthened institutions and created opportunities for Nigerians, regardless of affiliation, while also offering prayers for his continued health and success.
Similarly, Governor Nwifuru commended the President’s resilience and leadership, noting that his policies and programmes have contributed significantly to national development across sectors. He reaffirmed his state’s support for the administration and wished the President more years of impactful service.
Also, the Director General of the National Sports Commission, Bukola Olapade, described Tinubu as a leader whose vision continues to inspire progress across sectors, including sports, where unity and teamwork reflect the broader national agenda.
Former presidential spokesperson Ajuri Ngelale also paid tribute, describing the President as a mentor whose approach to leadership emphasises strategic thinking, patience, and the careful application of solutions to complex national challenges.
Earlier, President Tinubu had indicated that he would mark his birthday in a low-key manner, citing the prevailing national mood and global concerns. He also expressed appreciation to Nigerians for their support and acknowledged the contributions of his wife, the Vice President, and members of his administration.
The celebrations come amid reflections on the administration’s reforms and the broader impact of its policies on the country’s economic and political landscape.
