Governor Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu has approved the appointment of Kayode Oyekanmi as the new General Manager of Lagos State Television following the disengagement of the former General Manager, Sola Kosoko.
The Lagos State Head of Service, Bode Agoro, presented the appointment letter to Oyekanmi during a brief ceremony held at the Secretariat in Alausa, Ikeja.
Agoro said the appointment was in recognition of Oyekanmi’s dedication, diligence and commitment in the discharge of his duties as a public servant.
He expressed confidence in the new appointee’s ability to reposition the station and wished him a successful tenure.
Before his appointment, Oyekanmi served as Director of the Strategy Centre at the Lagos State Ministry of Information and Strategy, a position he held since 2022.
He is a communications and brand management professional with more than three decades of experience spanning the public and private sectors, with expertise in advertising, public relations and export services.
Oyekanmi began his public service career with the Lagos State Ministry of Information and Strategy on March 1, 2000, as a public affairs practitioner.
A native of Isale Eko in Lagos Island, he has received several recognitions for his contributions to journalism and public communication.
He holds a Master’s degree in Public Administration from University of Lagos and a Bachelor’s degree in English Language and Education from Lagos State University.
Oyekanmi is also a member of the Nigeria Union of Journalists and the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations.
He currently serves as the Charter President of the Lagos State Ministry of Information Toastmasters Club.
