At long last, President Alhaji Muhammadu Buhari succumbed to pressure to assent the 2021 and amended Electoral Act Amendment Bill for passage into law.

The official signing took place inside the Council Chambers of the Presidential Villa, Abuja at about 12:30 pm.

Present at the signing ceremony were: Vice President, Professor Yemi Osinbajo, the Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Mahmood Yakubu, President of the Senate, Ahmed Lawan, and Speaker of the House of Representatives, Femi Gbajabiamila among others.
