Popular Nigerian dancer and socialite, Iweh Pascal Odinaka, popularly known as Poco Lee, is scheduled to appear before the Snaresbrook Crown Court in London over assault charges.
The court confirmed the development in correspondence with PUNCH Online on Tuesday, stating that the case has been listed for plea and trial preparation on September 15, 2026.
James Baker, the court’s Admin Team Lead, said the hearing would be open to members of the public, while the specific time and courtroom would be made available a day before the proceedings.
The confirmation followed inquiries concerning allegations of sexual assault involving the Nigerian entertainer.
Earlier, the founder of the Community of Nigerians in the United Kingdom, Benjamin Kuti, popularly known as Oluomo of Derby, said Poco Lee was on remand in a UK prison and expected to appear before the court in September.
Kuti said he was familiar with the development through his regular attendance at court proceedings and his involvement in supporting Nigerians facing legal challenges in the United Kingdom.
According to him, the September proceeding would ordinarily involve the accused entering a plea of guilty or not guilty.
The court’s confirmation did not disclose further details of the allegations against Poco Lee beyond stating that the case had been listed for plea and trial preparation.
Poco Lee’s scheduled appearance marks the next stage of the legal process, with the allegations expected to be considered through the UK criminal justice system.
The entertainer remains entitled to due process, and the allegations have yet to be determined by the court.
