Onigbongbo Local Council Development Area (LCDA) in partnership with ThinkMint Nigeria and corps members serving within the LCDA embarked on a Market Storm across Oregun and Onigbongbo markets on Friday to empower traders and engage the community.
This initiative is part of the FINE Agenda of the administration of the Executive Chairman of the LCDA, Hon. Moyosore Adebanjo, which was created to empower traders financially and raise awareness among market men and women on important health topics.
Through this impactful outreach, more than 83 traders received monetary envelopes and valuable resources aimed at boosting their livelihoods.
The event also featured health talks led by NYSC corps members attached to the council. They educated traders on hygiene, preventative healthcare and wellness practices.
Additionally, the NYSC corps distributed aprons to all traders present as part of efforts to promote hygiene in the marketplace.
The chairman’s goal is to keep empowering people, especially the market men and women, who are the backbone of our local economy.
