It is reported that one of the pioneering members of the Nigerian movie industry Doris Chima has passed on. According to the report, the deceased Chima who was a former vice chairperson of Lagos AGN, succumbed to death after a long battle with breast cancer.

It was gathered that Doris Chima has undergone surgery last year to get rid of the affected breast in a bid to save other organs of her body from the disastrous harm of the deadly cancer virus.

The leadership of the AGN Lagos Chapter in a statement reacted to the unfortunate demise of one of the leading figures of the Actor Guild of Nigeria. The Lagos Chairman of the Guild, Emeka Rising Ibe said: “She called me last week and pleaded due to ill health not to remove her from the verification exercise I embarked on to ascertain true members of the guild in Lagos.

“Yesterday morning, I got a call that she was dead. Though I am yet to visit the family but it is a great loss for us. I pray for the repose of her soul.”
