The National Emergency Management Agency has delivered relief materials to victims of a suspected banditry attack in Angwan Rukuba, Jos North Local Government Area of Plateau State.
According to a statement released by the agency, the items were delivered on Friday by the Acting Director, Dr Adebiyi B. Razaq, on behalf of the Director-General of the North Central Zone, Zubaida Umar.
While presenting the materials, Dr Razaq conveyed the sympathy of the Federal Government to the people and government of Plateau State over the tragic incident. He reiterated the agency’s commitment to providing timely humanitarian assistance to victims of disasters and emergencies across the country.
The relief package distributed to the affected community included food items, assorted medications, and other essential non-food materials aimed at alleviating the suffering of the victims.
Dr Razaq also offered prayers for the quick recovery of those injured and comfort for families who lost loved ones in the attack.
Receiving the items on behalf of the victims, the Governor of Plateau State, Caleb Mutfwang, expressed appreciation to NEMA and the Federal Government for the prompt intervention.
He assured that the state government would collaborate closely with the agency to ensure transparent and equitable distribution of the relief materials to those directly affected.
The presentation took place at the Government House in Jos and was attended by key stakeholders, including representatives of security agencies, officials of the Plateau State Emergency Management Agency, and other government functionaries.
