At a Federal High Court sitting in Ikoyi, Lagos headed by Justice I. Nicholas Oweibo, the trial case of internet fraud of Afeez Fashola also known as Naira Marley, the court ruled that the court be adjourned till October 5, 2021.

The litigation pursuing this legal cause against the famed musician started in 2019 when (Naira Marley) was arraigned by anti-graft agencies, the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC on an 11-count charge of credit card fraud. Naira Marley, however, pleaded his innocence.

In the course of the trial, two forensic experts- Nuru Buhari Dalhatu and Augustine Anosike, testified against Naira Marley proving that he had infact had dealings of internet fraud cases which involved amongst other things, trading with virtual stolen credit card merchants as revealed by the defendant’s phone records.

In order for due legal procedure by both the prosecution and defense counsels, Justice Oweibo adjourned the trial to October 5, 6 and 7.
