Governor Bello Mohammed)(Matawallen Maradun) has ordered for the distribution of Ramadan Commodities procured to alleviate the hardship faced by orphans, the destitute and less privileged in the society during this year’s Ramadan.

Governor Matawalle said at the flag off of the Ramadhan Feeding programne that the Government deemed it fit to alter the annual Ramadan support to the needy this year especially as it has come under the current challenge of covid-19 faced by the people.

“We are committed to providing palliatives in the form of assistance to our people. The packages this time around have been expanded to provide enough to the teeming population of the needy across the State”, Governor Matawalle said.

“For this year’s Ramadan, my administration has procured a total of 48,822 bags of food items at the total cost of N890,746,500” Matawalle revealed.

In addition, Governor Matawalle said, the sum of N307 Million has been earmarked for cooking condiments in all the 2, 516 polling units across the 14 Local Government Areas of the state.

Similarly, the Government has made arrangements to supply foodstuff to civil servants at 50% discount to be repaid over a period of at least four months.

The items procured include sugar, milk, rice, corn and fabrics for the orphans.
