A purported statement credited to the Honorable Minister of Justice and Attorney General of the Federation, Abubakar Malami (SAN) has surfaced online.

According to our sources, the Minister’s statement comes on the heel of the ban of social media giant, Twitter, in Nigeria. Mr. Malami was alleged to have read out the riot act to all offenders of the Federal Government ban on Twitter operations in Nigeria.

In the alleged statement that was e-signed by the Special Assistant on Media and Public Relations, Office of the Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, it partly reads: “Mr. Malami directed the Director of Public Prosecution of the Federation (DPPF) at the Office of the Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, to swing into action and commence in earnest the process of prosecution of violators of the Federal Government De-activation of opetations of Twitter in Nigeria.”
