Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde has promised to pay outstanding minimum wage and promotion arrears owed to workers of the Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH) Teaching Hospital by mid November 2026.
The governor gave the assurance after meeting with hospital stakeholders to discuss their grievances, according to a statement published on his official X account on Friday.
Makinde said his administration would also establish a committee to examine other concerns raised during the meeting and recommend appropriate action.
He explained that the decision followed discussions with representatives of the hospital workforce over outstanding payments and other issues affecting their welfare.
The governor reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to the welfare of Oyo State residents and the continued delivery of public services until the end of his tenure.
He said the government would remain focused on addressing the concerns raised by stakeholders while working in the interest of the state.
