The 9-man technical committee set up by Governor Bello of Kogi state has come up with a plan to developing the first-of-its-kind Holiday Village in Africa.

The committee known as Kogi State Advisory Intervention Committee on Culture and Tourism was inaugurated the by governor in August 2021 headed by Otunba Segun Runsewe who doubles as the current President of the Word Craft Union (Africa region).

Other members of the high-powered committee: Hon. Salifu Isah Idachaba, Kogi State Commissioner for Culture & Tourism, who is the alternate Chairman; Chief Mrs. Nike Okundaye, CEO Nike Arts Galary; Chief Joseph Makoju and La Campagne Resort owner, Kotonkarfi, Otunba Wanle Akinboboye, Mr Kehinde Quadri Adu, head, Culture & Tourism, African union; Mallam Yesufu Abubakar, representing Kogi State strategic revenue growth initiative, Dr Ronke Bello; and Hon. Femi Bolaji, Special Adviser to Governor Yahaya Bello on Culture & Tourism.

Otunba Segun Runsewe on behalf of the culture committee stated that there was an 8-points agenda whose intent is geared towards the actualization and development of the first ever Holiday Village in Africa to be sited in Lokoja, Kogi State.

Otunba Runsewe observed that part of the 8 points agenda includes: visits to all Historical and Heritage Sites in Kogi State, Hosting the very important National Stakeholders’ Meeting in Kogi State, Trips to Farm and National Sites, Interface with brand names in the country, setting up of media players, building a brand identity for the Holiday Village, develop feedback mechanism with the Kogi State Government House and host physical meeting when necessary.
