Naomi Osaka on Saturday became the first Asian, male or female, to get to the pinnacle of tennis as World Number One. This was after she defeated World Number 8, Czech’s Petra Kvitova 7-6, 5-7,6-4 to win the first grand slam of the year.

Osaka also became the first player to win back to back grand slam titles since Jennifer Capriati. Her victory this time around was without any acrimony compared to the US open final against Serena Williams. Her victory as challenged the notion that a fully fit Serena will win any grand slam she features in. We can only wish her good luck in her next grand slam.

Meanwhile,the much awaited men’s final comes up tomorrow between Novak Djokovic and his eternal rival Rafael Nadal.

The duo have met 52 times with victories evenly matched. Djokovic has 27 wins to Nadal’s 25. In their last meeting at Wimbledon last year,Djokovic ran out winners. So are you predicting the winner of tomorrow’s final?
