There was a rowdy session during the screening of ministerial nominees on Tuesday after a lawmaker raised a petition against the immediate past governor of Kaduna State, Nasir El-Rufai.
The Lagosian Magazine reports that El-Rufai is among the 28 ministerial nominees sent to the Senate last week for screening and confirmation.
However, having mounted the podium to read out his profile in brief, a lawmaker, who commended the former governor, said: “I have a petition against you regarding the insecurity in Kaduna under your administration”.
The question, however, caused a commotion as lawmakers insist El-Rufai should be allowed to take a bow and go as his case should not be different from other past governors already screened who were also asked to take a bow and go.
