The Executive Chairman of Onigbongbo Local Council Development Area, Hon. Moyosore Adebanjo, paid a working visit to the newly recruited members of the Onigbongbo LCDA Security Marshal during their ongoing drilling and ethics training session.
The visit provided an opportunity for the Chairman to interact with the recruits, observe their training, and reiterate the administration’s commitment to strengthening community security while creating meaningful opportunities for young people within the LCDA.
Speaking during the visit, Hon. Moyosore Adebanjo stated that the establishment of the Onigbongbo LCDA Security Marshal is consistent with the vision of the President of the federal Republicof Nigeria on community policing, particularly the need for security structures that are closer to the people and responsive to the peculiar needs of local communities.
According to him, the initiative is not only about improving security but also represents a deliberate effort to mitigate the impact of unemployment by engaging young people within Onigbongbo LCDA in productive and responsible community service.
He charged the recruits to see their roles as a position of trust and responsibility, emphasizing that discipline, integrity, respect for human rights, professionalism, and ethical conduct must remain at the core of their operations.
The Chairman further assured the newly recruited marshals that their contributions to the safety and well-being of residents are valued, stressing that the administration would not take their service for granted.
Hon. Moyosore Adebanjo encouraged the recruits to remain committed to their training and uphold the values expected of them, noting that their conduct would have a direct impact on the confidence residents place in the initiative.
He also expressed confidence that the Onigbongbo LCDA Security Marshal would contribute significantly to creating a safer environment while fostering stronger collaboration between the community, local authorities, and other security stakeholders.
