The Executive Chairman of Onigbongbo Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Hon. Moyosore Adebanjo, marked his one hundred days in Office and used the occasion to officially unveil the Onigbongbo Empowerment Committee. This initiative is aimed at ensuring the dividends of democracy reach every nook and cranny of the LCDA.
During the inauguration of the committee at Council Secretariat, Hon. Moyosore Adebanjo stated that the vision of the committee aligns with his administration’s FINE AGENDA, a people-centered roadmap designed to rebuild hope, strengthen community development and empower residents across all wards. “Our goal is to ensure that help gets to the lowest person in Onigbongbo, regardless of political affiliation,” he said.
Hon. Onifitila Sulyman, who was named the Chairman of the newly inaugurated committee, assured the Executive Chairman of the committee’s total commitment to transparency and effectiveness.
In his goodwill message, the Vice Chairman of the Committee, Hon. Tunde Obanubi, commended the initiative and described it as a first-of-its-kind in Onigbongbo LCDA.
“No chairman has ever thought of or implemented something like this. While some may not be pleased, the majority, the people who will benefit, will continue to pray for you,” he told Hon. Moyosore. “We will use our political maturity to ensure this mission succeeds,” he added.
Other members of the committee also expressed gratitude and commitment to the cause. Hon. Chinedu Ogbena described the initiative as a step in the right direction and emphasised that the committee would ensure the empowerment reaches even the most vulnerable residents.
Mrs. Josephine Inegbe applauded the chairman, saying, “If every local government had a chairman like this, nothing would ever go wrong.”
Hon. Tunde Adenugba and Mr. Michael Olosho also praised Hon. Moyosore Adebanjo’s foresight, calling the move unprecedented in the LCDA’s history.
Mr. Taofik Isiaka (Apashe) offered prayers for the chairman and the committee, expressing gratitude for being included among the members.
In their remarks, the Vice Chairman of the Council, Hon. Shamsideen Oloyede, advised the committee to stay focused on the community’s interests and avoid politicising the empowerment process.
Similarly, the Chief of Staff to the Council Chairman, Hon. Seun Abiodun, thanked Hon. Moyosore Adebanjo for his visionary leadership and reaffirmed that the committee would not let the administration down
