The Executive Chairman of Onigbongbo Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Hon. Moyosore Adebanjo, held 2026 Budget Stakeholders Meeting at the Council Secretariat, where he reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to participatory governance and people-centered development.
At the event were the Vice Chairman, Leader of the House and other Honourable Councillors, traditional rulers, religious leaders, trade and community representatives, members of the management team, NULGE Representatives, the press, among other key stakeholders.
In his opening remarks, Hon. Moyosore expressed appreciation to all attendees, noting that the 2026 Budget, themed “Budget of Inclusive Growth and Sustainable Development,” embodies his administration’s vision to foster economic growth and community empowerment through collaboration and transparency.
Before proceeding, the gathering observed a moment of silence in honour of the late former Chairmen, Hon. Oke and Hon. Oladotun Olakanle, for their invaluable contributions to the growth of Onigbongbo LCDA.
Speaking further, Hon. Moyosore emphasized that effective governance is rooted in inclusive planning and active community participation.
“The budget is not merely a financial document; it is a roadmap for progress, a reflection of our shared vision, and a tool for translating the F.I.N.E Agenda into tangible development,” he stated.
He reaffirmed that the F.I.N.E Agenda: Foster economic growth, Invest in people, Nurture ideas and enterprises, and Ensure well-being, remains the guiding principle of his administration.
Highlighting achievements recorded since assumption of office, the Chairman outlined several key milestones, including:
1. Hosting the swearing-in and proclamation of the 6th Legislative Arm of Onigbongbo LCDA;
2. Organizing the Moyosore Youth Championship Cup in celebration of the 2025 International Youth Day;
3. Conducting a Workshop on Illicit Drug Abuse in partnership with the NDLEA;
4. Providing laptops and printers to enhance voter pre-registration for residents;
5. Celebrating Isese Day and World Tourism Day to promote unity and culture;
6. Creating employment opportunities for vulnerable families within the LCDA;F
7. Facilitating access to CNG-powered tricycles for residents;
8. Providing Free Health Insurance for elderly citizens;
9. Partnering with Globacom to deliver affordable internet services;S
10. Supporting students through the Back-to-School Initiative; and
11. Hosting the 2025 Spelling Bee Competition for public schools across Onigbongbo.
While acknowledging financial limitations, Hon. Moyosore noted that these strides demonstrate the council’s unwavering commitment to governance that balances infrastructure with human empowerment.
He called on all stakeholders to actively contribute to the 2026 Budget process, urging them to share ideas that would shape a progressive and equitable future for the LCDA.
In closing, Hon. Moyosore reiterated his administration’s pledge to transparency, accountability, and inclusivity as the hallmarks of governance.
