The Executive Chairman of Onigbongbo Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Hon. Moyosore Adebanjo, delivered a powerful speech during the 2025 Breast Cancer Awareness Month event themed “Every Story is Unique, Every Journey Matters.”
The event, held at the Grandeur Event Centre, Billings Way, Ikeja, featured “Moyo Pink Walk,” a symbolic march through the streets of Onigbongbo. The walk united men, women and youth in a common cause to raise awareness for breast cancer prevention and early detection.
In his heartfelt address, Hon. Moyosore stated,
“There are moments that remind us of what truly matters; moments that renew our sense of purpose and bring us closer as a community. This morning’s walk was one of those moments. As we marched through our streets in unity, in pink and in purpose, I saw faces filled with strength, laughter and hope. I saw survivors walking beside friends, young people walking for mothers, and men walking for their wives and sisters. I saw a community standing together for life.”
Hon. Moyosore also shared a personal reflection, crediting his mother’s strength and compassion as a major influence on his leadership journey.
He emphasized that the Moyo Pink Walk was conceived not as a routine government event, but as a statement of empathy, awareness and purpose, aimed at ensuring that every woman in Onigbongbo LCDA understands that early detection saves lives and that awareness is a powerful tool.
Hon. Moyosore concluded his speech by appreciating the partners and supporters who made the event a success. He acknowledged MSI Nigeria, C.O.P.E., New Heights Pharma, Niola Cancer Care Foundation, Grandeur Event Centre and several other contributors for their commitment to women’s health and community empowerment.
