The President of Haiti has been reported to be killed in his private residence. According to Claude Joseph, the interim Prime Minister of Haiti, Claude Joseph, the Haitian president was killed overnight by yet-to-be identified gunmen.

The statement partly reads: “He was fatally wounded by a group of unidentified men, some of whom were speaking Spanish,’’. Police and armed forces are in control of the situation, and all measures are taken to guarantee the continuity of the State and protect the Nation”.

In the attack, the wife of the slain frontline political leader, Martine Moïse, was reportedly to have sustained some injuries during the attack.

Recall that in early February, the late Moise alarmed that there was an attempt on his wife. No fewer than 20 suspects were arrested including a supreme court judge and an inspector-general of police.
