Veteran Fuji musician, Isiaka Iyanda Sawaba has died.

His death was announced a few minutes ago by one of his friends and contemporaries, Rasheed Ayinde Adekunle, AKA Fuji Merengue.

Popularly known as “Easy Sawaba”, Sawaba was in the 1970s and 1980s a force to reckon with in Fuji music.

Born in Ghana on Sunday 11 November 1951, Sawaba hailed from Ile Aperin at Orita Aperin in Ibadan, Oyo State .

He became popular in the 1980s with his Pata Olokun branch of Fuji Music and was party of the rivalry involving Barrister, Kolington, Wasiu Ayinde and others in the apogee of FUJI music.

He has been hospitalized for some time in Ibadan and his death this morning brings to an end a glorious musical career.
